01About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses Squaroid, including the competitions run on it. By creating an account, joining a competition or submitting work, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Each competition can also have its own rules and terms, shown on its page before you join. If a competition's own terms differ from these, the competition's terms apply to that competition.
02Your account
- You can sign up with your email and a password, or with Google. Keep your login details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate details in your profile, including your name, college and where you study. One account per person.
- Whether you study in India or outside India decides the prices you see and pay. You choose this once on your profile and it cannot be changed afterwards, so please choose carefully. Contact us if it was set wrongly.
- Moderator and jury roles are given by Squaroid and can be changed or removed by us.
03Competitions and dates
Every competition shows three dates:
- Start date: the competition begins. You can join and submit as soon as you have joined, even before this date.
- End date: registration and submissions close. Late entries are not accepted.
- Results date: results are published by this date. We may publish earlier once every entry has been reviewed.
We may change dates, rules or prizes before a competition starts, or cancel a competition, for example if too few people enter. We will show any change on the competition page.
04Fees and payments
- Some competitions are free; others have a joining fee, shown before you pay. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay; we do not store your card details.
- Students in India pay in Indian rupees. Students outside India pay in US dollars at the international price shown on the site.
- You join a paid competition once your payment is confirmed.
- Joining fees are non-refundable, including if you do not submit an entry. If we cancel a competition, we will refund the joining fees paid for it.
- Your bank or card provider may charge its own fees, for example for currency conversion.
05Your submission
- Each entry is one PDF of up to 10 MB. The work must be your own and original, and must not break anyone else's rights.
- Reviews are anonymous. Do not put your name, college or logo in the file name or in the drawings; entries that do may be disqualified.
- You may replace your PDF once, until a moderator starts reviewing it or the competition ends. The last PDF you submit is the one that is judged.
- You keep the copyright in your work. You allow Squaroid to store it, show it to moderators and jury members, and display winning entries publicly with credit to you, including on our website and social media.
- Submitted PDFs are kept for one year after results are published, then deleted.
06Judging and results
- Entries are reviewed by moderators, and the strongest are marked by a jury. Scores and ranks follow the scoring shown with the results.
- Entries that break the rules may be disqualified, with a reason recorded.
- Entries that have not been fully reviewed by the results date may not be ranked.
- The decision of the moderators and jury is final.
07Prizes
- Prizes are set in Indian rupees. Amounts shown in other currencies are for display only; the prize itself is the rupee amount.
- Before paying a prize we may ask winners to confirm their identity, eligibility and payment details. A prize may be withheld if the entry or the details given are found to be false or to break these terms.
- Prizes are paid by bank or UPI transfer to the payout details you add in your profile, after results are published. Taxes (TDS) are deducted where the law requires, which may need your PAN.
08Using the site fairly
- Do not copy other people's work, create multiple accounts, or try to influence judging.
- Do not misuse the site, for example by uploading harmful files, trying to access other accounts or data, or interfering with how the site runs.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and remove entries or results connected to them.
09Your information
We use your details to run your account, competitions, payments and prizes. Moderators and jury members do not see participants' names, and we do not sell your information. Payout details (bank account, UPI ID and PAN) are seen only by Squaroid admins, to pay prizes.
10Availability and liability
We work to keep Squaroid available and accurate, but the site is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable. We are not responsible for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as internet or payment-provider outages.
As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim about a competition is limited to the joining fee you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited.
11Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in force when you joined a competition applies to that competition.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
